Local police have reported that eight people were injured in the incident, with one person suffering âcritical with non-life-threatening injuriesâ and seven others experiencing moderate to mild injuries.
This comes hot on the heels of several other air traffic accidents in America, specifically in Philadelphia and Washington D. C., which resulted in fatalities, numerous injuries, and sparked intense debate over the potential influence of D. E.I. (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) on these crashes.
Authorities have confirmed that all passengers and crew were safely evacuated from the aircraft. A video shared on social media by a passenger showed the immediate aftermath of the accident, with the Delta plane upside down on the runway as smoke billowed from the aircraft.
âWeâre in Toronto, we just landed, our plane crashed. Itâs upside downâŚmost people are going to be okay, weâre all getting off,â the passenger said. On Monday, a Delta Airlines flight met with disaster as it flipped over upon touching down at Torontoâs Pearson Airport, leaving at least eight people injured, according to paramedics.
The Canadian Press disclosed that among those on the flight from Minneapolis, one passenger was critically hurt, while seven others sustained injuries. Social media images depict the aircraft overturned on the runway.
After a Delta flight from Minneapolis experienced an âincidentâ at the airport, officials confirmed that all passengers and crew were safe. The scene showed the plane inverted on the snow-laden tarmac, with emergency services in action.
The airport took to social platform X to announce, âEmergency teams are responding,â and reassured everyone that âAll passengers and crew are accounted for.â
Delta acknowledged the situation, stating they are âaware of reports of Endeavor Flight 4819 operating from Minneapolis/St. Paul to Toronto-Pearson International Airport as involved in an incident.â
Ontario Premier Doug Ford also reacted on X, expressing his relief that there were no fatalities following the event at Toronto Pearson. Ford continued, saying: âProvincial officials are in contact with the airport and local authorities and will provide any help thatâs needed,â.
